Hope for the Future - Take your Best Shot
It was a hole in one! Sunday, September 17 was fun filled afternoon with family and friends enjoying little tournament style play. The event supported the foundation and the amazing work of the Baylor College of Medicine Teen Health Clinics The Baylor College of Medicine Teen Health Clinics is a network of 8 clinics located throughout Houston which provides free health care including mental health care to young men and women ages 13-24.
The event was chaired be Honorary Chairwoman Marian Harper and chaired by Danielle White who pulled together a lively crowd with many families enjoying the fun and a kids’ corner set up for the littlest guests. The Urban Harvest Team was a repeat winner from 2022! They won a 3-month membership to Top Golf. The silent auction chaired by Phyllis Willams saw an all-out bidding war over the multiple wine packages and the East River golf outing plus all the Astros signed memorabilia. Several packages had friendly competitors vying to take the prize including BCM Teen Health Clinics CEO Dr. Peggy Smith and foundation board member Doe Florsheim. All the proceeds from the silent auction benefitted the Baylor College of Medicine Teen Health Clinics Project Ascend. This amazing program connects opportunity youth 18-24 to careers in health care. The Foundation supports this program by providing a stipend to all enrollees to cover the cost of tuition, books, uniforms while the students receive all their health care at the Teen Clinics. To help with Project Ascend, everyone’s favorite grocer HEB continued their scholarship fund and announced the first HEB scholar has been offered a job with Baylor College of Medicine.
This event was a huge success and a great way to celebrate the President of the Foundation for Teen Health! See you in 2024!
